First Renaissance Sculptures
In early Renaissance (1400-1500), Ghiberti is said to be the base of Renaissance sculpting. It mainly started with his work, The Gates of Paradise. This is a set of bronze doors on the Florence Baptistry. It displays 10 biblical scenes on the doors. -

Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore
The main church of Florence, The Duomo as it is ordinarily called, was begun in 1296 in Gothic style and completed structurally in 1436 with the dome engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi. The exterior of the basilica is faced with marble panels in various shades of green and pink, bordered by white and has a 19th century Gothic look. -

Equestrian Statue of Gattamelata
Donatello's equestrian statue (a statue of a rider mounted on a horse). Made of bronze, it shows Erasmo of Narni (Gattamelata) sitting on his horse with a serious expression on is face. It was made after Gattamelata's death in honor of him. The statue itself is over 12 feet tall, and sits on a 25 foot pedestal. It stands at the Piazza del Santo in Padua, Italy. -
