Gandhi is born
Mohandis Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869. He lived in a town on he Kathiawar peninsula, north of bombay, which held 70,000 people. He was born to the Modh Bania subdivision of the Vaisya caste. Gandhis family were grocers which means they sold goods at a store. -
British Columbia becomes part of Canada
Captain Cook found British Columbia while looking for a northwest passage. It was used by fur traders commonly. Later it was reconized as an imperial territory by Britain. -
First working telephone
The first working telephone was made by Alexander Graham Bell. It transferred voices and other sounds telegraphicaly. It became very important time in history. -
Gandhi gets married at a young age
Gandhi married 14 year old Kasturbai Makhanji at 13 years. He also had a child 2 years later. Their child died a few days later. -
Gandhi was a rebellious child
Gandhi stole things from people, owed debts, and smoked. He felt very guilty for his crimes and confessed to his father who only left him off with a warning. This taught Gandhi to always tell the truth and confess. -
Basketball was created
At a YMCA, James Naismith created a game for the childeren. The game consisted of throwing a ball into an elevated peach basket. The game evolved over time into a very popular game where you throw a ball into a net. -
Gandhi moves to South Africa to do work for a contract and stands up for himself
The year long work caused Gandhi to stand up for himself more. He refused to take off his turban when asked because it was part of his religion. Also, he refused to sit in 3rd class seats instead of the 1st class seats and kicked off the train. He was also kicked from many hotels. -

Gandhi starts a new organization to fit the Natal Indians’ needs
Gandhi knew the indians needed something to fit their needs so he started an organization called the Natal Indian Congress. He knew very little of the Natal Congress so he did what suits him and thats what the people liked. He also refused to eat dinner unti his pay went up from 3 to 6 pounds. -

Gold is found in Bonanza Creek, Yukon, Canada. Thousands of people scatter all around the Klondie River to get gold. Everyone was trying to become rich from the gold. -
Gandhi protests with his people
A new act came which compelled registraition of the Inidan people of the colony. Many people including Gandhi were angry at this and protested. They protested for no violence because they would rather protest and get punished than been greeted with violent forces. -
Gandhi jailed
Ghandi and many others were protesting a new law and got punished. Some got arrested nad some got shot just for portesting non violence. The South Americans and Gandhi come to a comprimise and let him go. -
The Titanic sinks
The Titanic was claimed to be indistructable but got a big hole in hit when it hit an iceburg. Many people drowned in the freezing cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Only 700 out of 2,200 people survive the sinking of the Titanic. -
Gandhi attenpts to gain rights from South Africa
Gandhi led a massive group of Indians to protest for rights in South Africa. He compromised with the government and created a Indian Relief Act. This act droped taxes on ex-indentured laborers and leagalized marriages performed due to Indian tradition. -
Gandhi Era begins
Gandhi’s movement of non-violent resistance spread national and they are all supporting the movement. The police acted and went out to seize property and arrest Indians even if they only have a little bit of evidence. The British authorities also sent Indians into World War 1 without any consultation. -
Gandhi stops eating to protest and gains respect from many but gets assasinated
Gandhi stops eating for 21 days. The UK announced Indian independence and hindu and muslim stopped violence due to Gandhi. Also, Gandhi was assasinated by Nathuram Godse.
