ANZAC's arrive in Gallipoli
At 4:30 am the first Anzacs that started to head towards the beach but it wasn’t until they were almost there that they realised that they landed at the wrong beach. But they hadn’t really landed at the wrong beach because General Sir William Birdwood had an idea that the Turks wouldn’t cover the area strongly because it would almost impossible to attack from there. -
Strengthening of defence
The front lines were established, and over the following days it was strengthened -
ANZAC attack
The ANZAC’s were involved in a major attack around Cape Helles. Unfortunately the attack failed and the attackers didn’t even make it to the trenches. This attack only lasted 3 days. -
Turkish attack
The Turks attacked the ANZAC’s but also failed and lost an estimated 3000 men. This was a suicidal attack. -
Stalemate begins
The stalemate lasts from june until August -
Breaking the stalemate
The Leaders decided to try and break the stalemate by landing British troops just north of ANZAC cove and seize that area and make that a landing place for supplies. The main attack, once everything else had worked, failed only some New Zealanders made the summit and couldn’t hold on. -

Jim Martin Dies
Jim Martin had lost half his weight. Despite the best efforts from the medical staff he sadly passed away. -
Withdrawal
The 40,000 ANZAC’s started to withdraw troops. They knew this would be risky because the Turks could make an attack on the weakening defence, but it was a risk they had to take. The Turks didn’t even realise until the 20th of December that the ANZAC’s had left
