Sinatra played a benefit show at Carnegie Hall for Martin Luther King, Jr. and led his fellow Rat Pack members and Reprise label mates in boycotting hotels and casinos that refused entry to black patrons and performers. -
Scooby-Doo
After making his appearance in 1969, Scooby-Doo quickly became one of the most popular cartoon characters of all time, And it’s all thanks to Frank Sinatra. While flying to Los Angeles, CBS children’s programming head Fred Silverman was listening to a recording of Sinatra’s “Strangers in the Night.” Near the end of the song, Sinatra starts improvising, singing nonsense phrases like “dooby-dooby-doo.” And that’s when everything clicked. -
