Alexis de Tocqueville
French writer who came to USA to observe U.S. Government and politics. He stated 5 values that are crucial to USA's success as a constitutional republic: liberty( individuals are free to pursue their own work), egalitarianism( there is no social class system in the country), individualism( hard work labor are keys to becoming successful, populism( all individuals have their voice and are allowed to say their opinion) and laissez-faire( less government interaction and more hard work = success). -
