The Vietnam war was a conflict between communist North Vietnam and South Vietnam and its ally the US. In the US the war was very unpopular. The war ended with the US withdrawing and Vietnam united under communist rule. 58,000 americans were killed in the war. -

The Integration of the University of Alabama was when federalized troops forced Governor Wallace to end his blockade of the school and allow two black students to enroll. Apollo 11 (Moon Landing)
Apollo 11 was the first spaceflight to land two people on the moon. Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin landed the lunar module Eagle on the moon on July 20, 1969. Apollo 11 ended the space race between the US and the Soviet Union and achieve JFK's national goal for the US.
