    Believe it or not, but Elvis did not come up with the song "Hound Dog". It was originally created by an African-American woman named "Big Mama" Thornton. Elvis went to Vegas for a show, and he flopped. After he flopped, he moved to another hotel to watch the show there and seen another band performing their rendition of "Hound Dog". In 1956, Elvis appeared on The Steve Allen Show to play the song, but Elvis found the event embarrassing.
