President Truman signed a Peace Treaty with Japan , Ending World War 2
Approaching the end of WW2, the allied powers formed multiple peace treaties to end the war. By September 1947, Italy was forced to give up land and pay war reparations. Also, the treaty was meant to end hostilities on all sides. -
Segregation was ruled illegal in the U.S.
Two cases that go along with the segregation was Plessy V. Ferguson and the Brown V. Board of Education . The first case forced African Americans to use separate trains ,drinking fountains , separate schools , and more . The second case was basically saying they were separate but equal . These cases led to the segregation ruling reversed. -

The campaign was between Ronald Reagan and former Vice President Walter Mondale. Reagan received 525 electoral votes (out of 538) which was the highest total received by a presidential candidate. He was known as the oldest presidential canidate at 73 years old. -

George Herbert Walker Bush was named the 41st president with a 6-5 popular vote over Gov. Michael S. Dukakis. Bush was a republican candidate preceding former president Reagan. Bush turned out to be a president that was hated by America, and he is widely blamed for 9/11.
