    Death/Assasination of Robert Kennedy
    Robert Kennedy was the brother of John Kennedy who was also assassinated years before him. On June 5, he was addressing his campaign supporters in the Ambassador Hotel's Embassy Room ballroom in the Mid-Wilshire district of Los Angeles but then got shot by Sirhan Sirhan. He was confirmed dead on June 6th.

The World Health Organization (WHO), in 1988, declared December 1st to be World AIDS Day. By the end of the decade, there were at least 100,000 reported cases of AIDS in the United States. Many people died from this virus.
