First Week of School

  • First Day of School

    • The teacher models how to enter the classroom quietly
    • The teacher explains the schedule of the classroom which is taking attendance and things everybody needs to do before lunch
    • Students are explained the things they need to bring to come prepared in class
    • The teacher gives details about the morning and bell work
    • Next, the teacher clarifies the routine of using the restroom
    • Students will be made aware of the School's Code of Conduct so they know how to interact with one another

  • Second Day of School

    • Once all that is explained, the students will then be shown the signal that the teacher will use to get everyone's attention in the class
    • Students will be introduced to the Behaviour Management System so that they are aware of it right from the beginning
    • The teacher should also let the students know that their good behaviour will be rewarded and there will be consequences for not listening
    • The students will be told how to move around the classroom in a quiet manner without being loud

  • Third Day of School

    • Students will be shown how to organize their desks and what supplies to bring as well as how to keep the inside of their desk neat and tidy
    • The teacher will then explain the rule for sharpening pencils and also for handing out papers as well as collecting them
    • Next, the teacher will go over labeling assignments and the importance of submitting them on time
    • This leads to the next important point which is the teacher talking about the quality of work being handed in by the students

  • Fourth Day of School

    • Students will be made aware of how to transition between subjects and also how to move quietly when they are finished their work early
    • The teacher will also go over the rules for working independently as well as working in groups and teams
    • Technology is another important one and it's crucial that the teacher explains when and how to use it properly
    • Teacher will talk about the rules regarding eating & drinking in class
    • Students will also be explained their classroom jobs & cleaning up
