Week One Developments
There are no major developments during this time, other than the egg leaving the ovary and traveling through the fallopian tubes. -
Week Two Developments
Baby begins to form from a single fertilized egg to a cell that has divided itself. The developing embryo continues to rapidly divide. -
Week Three Developments
Cells are constantly multiplying and it becomes a blastocyst. Features such as gender are already determined and size ranges from 2mm to 5mm. -
Week Four Development
Implantation of blastocyst occurs within this stage. The now developing embryo contains two layers called the epiblast and the hypoblast. -
Week Five Developments
Throughout this time the embryo starts receiving oxygen and nutrition through the placenta. Furthermore, by the end of the week it is about the 4-5 mm in size. The embryo is quite similar to a tadpole. -
Week Six Development
Ultrasounds are able to detect major organs begining to develop such as the kidneys and liver. In addition, there is a pipe-shaped heart which begins to beat and the total size is about 8mm. -
Week Seven Developments
The embryo's hands and feet are like paddles, but the fingers are slowly starting to shape. The fetus is also beginning to grow muscle fibers and now has it's own blood type. -
Week Eight Developments
The fetus is now about 12 mm in size. In addition, the teeth as well as the palate are starting to form in the fetus. Brain waves can also be detetected from the baby. -
Week Nine Developments
The embryo's limbs are beginning to lose their tadpole-like look and start to form hands, feet, and touch pads. Organs and nerves are beginning to function. -
Week Ten Developments
The fetus's total weight is about 1/3 of an ounce. The heart is almost completly formed and the placenta is mature enough to support the production of hormones. -
Week Eleven Developments
The fetus moves around quite a bit and is about 50 mm. Furthermore, the vital organs are almost completly developed and starting to function. -
Week Twelve Developments
The babay's vocal chords have fully developed. In addition, the baby's brain is fully formed and is able to recognize pain, the kidneys have also formed. -
Week Thirteen Developments
In this stage the fetus is around 25 grams and about 8 cm long. The baby cartilage is beginning to be replaced by bone, and the chin and nosed are becoming well defined. -
Week Fourteen Developments
The fetus is about 45 grams at this time and 9 cm long. Due to the hormones, the boys begin to have a prostrate gland and for the girls the ovaries are moving from the abdomen to the pelvis. -
Week Fifteen Development
The baby continues to grow, and now has fingernails and toenails. They are able to move their arms and are about the size of a softball yet baby's skin is still quite thin. -
Week Sixteen Developments
The baby begins to hear external voices, and is noe able to sleep and dream. In addition, fat begins to form under skin and they have learned how to breathe. -
Week Seventeen Developments
The fetus is now just over 5 ounces and their umbilical cord is becoming thicker. The baby's rentina is becoming sensitive to light and fat continues to accumulate. -
Week Eighteen Developments
The baby is developing a protective wax layer and have active periods. Furthermore, they weigh around 7 ounces and are 6 inches in size. -
Week Nineteenth Developments
The baby's genitals are now identifiable and scalp hair is growing. Furthermore, the baby continues to be nourished by the placenta. At this stage the baby is about 6.5 inches. -
Week Twenty Progression
20 weeks is offically half way through the pregnancy. The baby is now about 11 ounces and around 7 inches long. At this point of time the fetus can now recognize their mother's voice and various fetures like their fingernails and hair continue to grow. -
Week Twenty-One Progression
The baby is now steadly gaining body fat. In addition, the bone marrow has begun to produce blood cells and their small intestine has started absorbing sugars. -
Week Twenty-Two Progression
The fetus now reacts to loud noises and their taste buds are developing. Furthermore, the baby is about 28 cm long and is around 1 pound. -
Week Twenty-Three Progression
The baby now regularly moves within the women's womb. Their eyebrows are visible , aswell as the bones in their ear beginning to harden. Their hormone production is steady. -
Week Twenty-Four Progression
At this stage the baby is gaining about 3 grams per week. Various aspects of the body are developing such as the branches of the respiratory tree and the sweat glands. -
Week Twenty-five Progression
The baby's hands are now well developed, as well as their sexual organs. They weigh about 690 grams and moveover their bones are starting to become solid. -
Week Twenty-Six Development
The baby is about 14 inches long and weighs over 1.7 pounds. At this time the baby's hands become quite active, and their eyes beguin to open. -
Week Twenty-Seven Progression
The baby's brain continues to rapidly grow, and their eyes are able to open and close. At this time the baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is around 14.5 inches in size. -
Week Twenty-Eight Progression
The baby's milk teeth have developed under their gums and the hair on their head is clearly seen. The baby has a regular schedulenow, for instance what times they are active or asleep. -
Week Twenty-Nine Progression
The baby now wieghs abut 1150 gm. They are able to respond to pain and their muscles and lungs continue to mature. The baby is sensitive to light and begin to develop taste preferences. -
Week Thirtieth Progression
At this stage the baby begins to store iron, calcium and phosphorus.
They are able to control their body temperature and recieve great nourishment in oder to funtion correctly. -
Week Thirty-One Progression
The baby is noe about 1.6 kg and 42cm in length. Their lungs and digestive tract are almost mature. Furthermore, nearly all of their major organs are functioning. -
Week Thirty-Two Progression
The baby's fat layer continues to get thicker and their fingernails and toenails are done forming. At this stage the baby has decreased movement. -
Week Thirty-Three Progression
The baby is using it's lungs to practice breathing and is inhaling amniotic fluid. Yet, they are urinating the same amount of amoniotic fluid that they take in. They are steadly growing. -
Week Thirty-Four Progression
The baby is about 18 inches long and weighs around 5.25 pounds. Although they have a good chance of survival outside the womb their skull bones are still pretty flexible/vulnerable. -
Week Thirty-Five Progession
The baby's reflexes have become coordinate and their lungs are almost fully developed. At this stage they gain about half pound per week and their movements become more forceful. -
Week Thirty-Six Progression
The baby is about 19 inches in size and weighs around 2.7 kg.They are continuously gaining fat and around this week they might drop into the birth canal. -
Week Thirty-Seven Progression
At this stage the baby is gaining one ounce per day and it is possible that their mother's water can break at anytime. -
Week Thirty-Eight Progression
The baby is about 20 inches and weighs around 7.5 pounds. Now that their main development is complete they focus on gaining fat and at this period they may have even reached their birth position. -
Week Thirty-Nine Progresson
The baby is now punching and kicking in the mother's abdomen. Futhermore, most of their downy coating of lanugo is gone. -
Week Forty Pregnancy
The due date is now here ! Everything within the baby is developed, they are about 20 inches and weigh alomost 7.5 pounds. The contrations may start at any time.
