Christopher Columbus
he discovered America while he was looking for a way to sail to Asia. He made several voyages to the New World(America). he thought Amarica was Asia. His first voyage took place in 1492. He led an expedition of three ships called the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria. On October 12, 1492, the expedition landed on a small island in the Caribbean Sea. Columbus was sure that he was close to Asia. -
Daniel Boone
He is especially known for his exploration of the wilderness of Kentucky in the USA. He traveled down the Ohio River, and trapped furs in the Green and Cumberland Valleys.He was captured and released by Indians in Kentucky but only for a short amount of time. -
Roald Amundsen
He was the first explorer to reach the South Pole. He was the first to take a ship voyage through the Northwest Passage. He was also one of the first to to cross the Arctic by air. Amundsen wanted to be the first man to go to the North Pole. However, American Robert Peary got there first in 1909. When Amundsen found out that he could not be first to in the North pole he decided to be the first man to reach the South Pole. -
Rollo the viking
Rollo discovered Iceland and made a settlement upon its shores.A few years later they sailed as far as Greenland and there established settlements which existed for few centurys.In 885 seven hundred ships commanded by Rollo and other Viking chiefs. They left the harbors of Norwayand sailed to Seine and started up the river to capture the city of Paris. -
Leif Erikson
Leif was the first to set foot the shores of America way before christopher Columbus.He was the son of Eric the Red who started the first European settlement of Greenland in 985. Leif went with his father to Greenland and lived there until 1000. he sailed to North America but not by mistake. He ended up in a place he called Vinland. This was probably the part of Canada now called Newfoundland. -
Ivar the Boneless
Lvar was one of the three sons of Ragnar Lothbrok(Bjorn Ironside,Hubba and Halfdan) a viking king that was thrown into a pit of snakes by Anglo-Saxon king Aella of Northumbria. Lvar and his brothers lead Viking ships to avenge is fathers death.
