U.S and many other leading economies crash as the stalk market breaks down at World Trade Centre. Money everywhere loses its value and creates chaos in banks across the country. -
Moving and writting during Depression
Between 1926 and 1933, the Bradbury family moved back and forth between Waukegan and Tucson, Arizona. In 1931, at age eleven, Ray began writing his own stories. Bradbury wrote on butcher paper during the great depression. -

Very cold. Because Russia is cold in the winter. Russia and the U.S were competing because of their dfferrences in government and political systems, Democracy v.s Communism. the threat of violence and war outbreak between the two countries was constant. -

The Soviet blocked the Western Allie's railway, road and canal access to the sectors of Berlin under Allied control. Their aim was to force the western powers to allow the Soviet zone to start supplying Berlin with food and fuel, thereby giving the Soviets practical control over the entire city. -

This was an anti- communist ideology that threatened to accuse many citizens of communist support in cold war period. -

Homecoming Published
At Mademoiselle magazine, a young editorial assistant named Truman Capote spotted one of Bradbury's short stories, "Homecoming'". Capote picked the Bradbury manuscript, which led to it getting published in the magazine. Homecoming won a place in The O. Henry Prize Stories of 1947
