At the age of 4 she started playing tennis. One day Evonne Goolagong was walking and looked through a fence where people were playing tennis and the coach asked her if she wanted to join and she did and the coach told Evonne's mum that she has potential and should start playing tennis. -
Moved to sydney
She moved to Sydney when she was 14 to receive professional training. -
Turning Pro
Evonne Goolagong turned pro at the age of 19 and won 7/21 of her tournaments. -
Wins Roland Garros
On Evonnes first year on tour she surprised the tennis world by winning the french open. -
Wins Wimbledon
Straight after winning Roland Garros (french open) Evonne won Wimbledon ladies singles. -
Wins Australian Open
Evonne wins her first Australian Open. -
Wins AO again for 2nd time
Evonne wins the Australian Open again. -
Marries Roger Cawley
Evonne marries her husband Roger Cawley after winning the Australian open. -
Gives birth
