Events that led to the American Revolution

    The British parliament said that each colony assemble should provide the basic needs to its soldiers. This in order to help each troop´s development.

    The British parliament approved the application of taxes to every single printed paper the colonialists used. This included newspapers, licenses, legal documents, etc.

    The British parliament applied new importing taxes on British´s goods like paint, paper, glass, etc. This in order to maintain the British troops in America.
  • Boston massacre

    After seeing some disturbs, British soldiers who were quartet in the city, killed five people. This mobs were caused by the Townshend act.

    The British East India Company in London was in financial trouble, so they impose a tax on tea. People started to buy tea in a ilegal way. This led to the Boston Tea Party.

    This was caused by the Townshend and Tea acts. People threw tea boxes into the sea as a way to protest.
  • Intolerable acts

    Also known as the Restraining Acts and the Coercive Acts. Four of them aimed at punishing the Boston Tea Party Facts. The fifth was related to Quebec an Ohio.
  • American Revolution

    Also known as the United States War of Independence or American Revolutionary War. The 13 colonies of America got independent from Great Britain.
