    During this time, the working class was positioned in unsanitory conditions for their jobs. Their bosses did not care about the working conditions of their employees. This resulted in a call for attention to lower class workers' employment conditions.

    This was the Local Government Board Act which placed responsibility for Public Health on a local authority.

    This act made companies responsible for providing proper lighting, water supply, sewage disposal, toilets, and housing for their employees.
  • Laborers Dwelling Act

    This act gave the local government power to destroy areas of housing with inadequate sewage disposals.
