After Maria Theresa inherited her father's land, Frederic II and the Prussian army took Silesia. This started a war in which the monarchs of Europe questioned Maria Theresa's rule. Bavaria, Spain, France, and Prussia were allied against Austria, Great Britain, the Netherlands, and Russia.

After the alliance shift durring the Diplomatic Revolution occured, another war broke out. The Seven Years' War lasted for, well, seven years, and involved all of Europe. It had no clear winner, but the treaty signed at the end allowed Prussia to keep the land it had taken from Austria, Silesia. -
