Amerigo Vespucci was an Italian explorer and cartographer. His goal was to find a new world and find a star that would let sailers easily use longitude. he found the new world but did not find the star. The Americas was named after him. He had the most detailed costal maps of America. -

Pedro Alvrez Cabral explored Southeastern America and claimed it for Portagul. He also discovered Brazil and counqured it. Then he named Brazil the "Island of the True Cross." -

First European to see Eastern Pacific
Vasco Nunez de Balboa was a spanish conqurer and explorer. He was the first European to see the eastern coast of the paccific ocean on the Isthmus of Panama. His goal was to get gold and pearls to spain. He was sucessful with the gold, infact he actualy got more than 100,000 castellanos worth of gold. He did not get any pearls though. -
