    Finding North America

    The Europeans rediscovered North America in 1492. Christopher Columbus set out for money, resources, fame, and glory. He was looking for a new trade route because they could not afford to pay to use the silk road for goods they needed any longer. He found something much better than a new trade route. He found the Americas. there were already Native Americans there but Columbus was the first European to discover the Americas.

    Protestant Reformation

    Martin Luther publicly criticizes the Roman Catholic Church. He stated that the church abused its power and was too wealthy. People started to agree with Martin Luther which is what started the Protestant Reformation. The printing press helped to spread the word of the reformation. The disagreement often led to civil wars.

    Spain and England go to war

    King Philip ll spent his money to lead a Catholic Reformation against the protestants. The Spanish Armada was made to stop the Englishes plans. They tried to overthrow the queen but failed after a huge war broke out.
