    The Catholic Church steps up and became a strong political force. The power they used was that they were the voice of God. If you disagreed with them, you disagreed with God.

    The cause of the Reanaissance is the Bubonic plague that killed 1/3 of the Europeans.People felt hopeless and needed to turn to abetter system than the one they had. Rebirth of classical Greel and Roman Empires.
