Erikson Timeline

  • Industry vs Inferiority

I received my blackbelt in taekwondo after many years of hard work. My parents encouraged me and so did the leaders at taekwondo leading me to be more confident in my abilities. The crisis here is being frustrated because I would face a lot of failures compared to my classmates if I did not show up consistently. I took it seriously because my parents and instructors encouraged me as I progressed which led to me working on these skills in taekwondo.
  • Identity vs. Confusion

I moved which made me switch schools, and I had just started high school. So I did not have many friends or a place where I could find purpose. I found the track and field team which solved this crisis.
The crisis was being stuck in figuring out who I was in this new environment with all new people or finding purpose and identity with those that were on the Track and Field team.
  • intimacy vs isolation

I got married to my wife Carlee because we wanted to share our lives and experiences together. The crisis was staying to myself and spending time doing the things I wanted alone or having shared experiences. It led to sharing my life with Carlee creating intimacy over isolation.
