  • Industry vs. Inferiority

    I (age 6) started to attend a new school for a second time where I noticed I was different from the other students around me. There was alot of comparisons I would make with myself and other females in the class. And comparing myself with those who choose to be my friend and those who did not. In Erickson's fourth stage, Industry vs. Inferiority, there is a struggle with trying to measure up with peers. Many negative instances can cause insecurities later on as a young adult.

    Identity Vs. Role Confusion

    During this time I focused alot on my education because of the pressure i felt of my parents to attend college. Not only that but the struggle to find something to study once I would be in college. The Fifth Erickson stage, identity vs. role confusion, identifies the struggles a young adult has finding themselves. In my experience the pressure of my parents caused me to pursue a career I thought I wanted but later on in life I realized I was quick to rush to a decision.
  • Intimacy V. Isolation

    I began dating someone who I love very much. I have never been in a serious relationship up until this point, but I was very much ready to do it. The Erickson stage, intimacy v. isolation mentions the need for a strong self identity for a successful relationship. I had a strong sense of self but my partner did not and I was blind of that. He struggled with his self happiness which took a toll on the relationship
