In Erikson's second stage, autonomy versus shame and doubt, is between the development of independence and confidence in their abilities (autonomy) or to continue to be dependent with insecurities (shame and doubt). -
Amy got married: Intimacy vs. Isolation
After a good and long relationship, Amy (at age 19) and Chris decided to get married after she graduated from high school. In Erikson's sixth stage, intimacy versus isolation, is between a committed relationship that fulfills with love (intimacy) or to be loneliness and not willing to open-up yourself to others (isolation). -
Amy sucess: Generativity vs. Stagnation
Amy (at age 40), enjoyed being a Registered Nurse by helping others and settled as a mother of four children. In Erikson's seventh stage, generality versus stagnation, is the crisis between the success of positivity to others (generativity) or to be self-centered by focusing on themselves more (stagnation).
