Eric's Timeline Project

  • Prenatal development

Conception and following development in the womb
  • Birth

Developed in my mother for ~9 months and was born at 7:03 AM, at St. Mary Mercy Hospital.
  • Cognitive development: First words

My mother told me that I said my first words, "ma-ma", extremely late compared to my two sisters. I was still near the average 11-14 months that it normally takes childrens to speak their first word however even after they were able to get me to say something doctor's suspected that I may be deaf. That theory was thwarted after they made me do a hearing test which showed I could hear just fine.
  • Biosocial development- First Steps

I was also told that I learned to walk fairly late. My mother joked that I was too fat to walk (picture to be attached soon). I definitely was a pretty big baby which may have hindered my initial development and motivation to walk, however my mom said that once I started walking I developed extremely fast and was running and riding tricycles earlier than most kids.
  • Psychosocial Development: Attachment

I'm told I was could have been diagnosed with Colic by how much I cried as a baby. My mother said I cried extremely frequently unless she or my father held me.
  • Psychosocial development: Learning to clothe myself

On my 3rd birthday my parents allowed me to pick out my outfit completely. It may not be the first time they allowed this but it was my birthday so my silly outfit was documented with pictures.
  • Biosocial development- motorskills development

I got my first pair of skates around this time. I was slow to speak and walk, but after I started walking I developed really fast. The skates that I got were a few sizes too big but it was what my parents could afford. They told me when I got older that I almost never took the skates off and sometimes wore them to sleep.
  • Psychosocial Development - First friend

My best friend as a child was Dustin Campbell. We met at a birthday party his parents had for him at their house right across the street from our house.
  • Cognitive development: First day of school

First day of kindergarten at Wildwood Elementary School.
  • Psychosocial development- Transferred schools

In 4th grade my parents transferred me from a public school to a private school. It was weird at first because it was so small compared to the public school but I believe I adapted fairly well.
  • Transferred schools (part 2)

In 7th grade I transferred schools again. I transferred from a Baptist private school to a Lutheran private school. It was much different then transferring in 4th grade because me and my buddy that I transferred schools with each time were teenagers now and we didn't know how we would be accepted. I definitely felt that because I was so athletic I was accepted fairly fast.
  • Psychosocial development- First girlfriend

Other than the many girlfriends I had in elementary school, which I wouldn't necessarily count, my first real girlfriend occured after transferring to St. Matthews.
  • Transferred schools (part 3)

After my 9th grade year at Lutheran High I decided to try to convince my parents to allow me to go to John Glenn High School for the next few years so I could go where a lot of my hockey friends attended. Unfortunately, they allowed me to transfer and my cognitive development growth was stunted quite a bit. Some of the required classes at John Glenn High school was similar difficulty to the stuff I was doing in 6th grade in a private school.
  • Graduated high school

Graduating high school was a mix of developments in that I cognitively developed a lot and I definitely had a lot of personality development.
  • Wedding day

I am marrying Virginia Butler on May 3rd, 2014.
  • Moving out

Yes I still live with my parents. They are older and they love having me around since I'm not really at home that much and when I am I do things that make it easier for them such as mow the lawn, walk and wash the dogs, grocery shop etc. I am really grateful for them to allow me to save money and live there while I work towards a degree.
  • Starting nursing school

I have been accepted to Madonna University and hopefully I am accepted to their nursing program in the following semester.
  • Graduating with my BSN

This will be a great day. I will have graduated with a BSN from Madonna University.
  • First Child

Complete approximate of the month and day, however when I am 30 years old and Ginny is 29 we plan on having our first child.
  • Buy our first house

Around this date I plan to have moved to Tennessee with my wife and have bought our first house.
  • Mission trip

I really want to take a mission trip to either Europe, Asia, or Australia around the age of 40. This is goal of mine because one of the best feelings in life is helping others. My wife and I will have had plenty of experience in floor nursing and life in general so I believe we can make this trip a memorable experience through touching other's lifes.
  • Retirement

I think this is a good day to retire. It will be my 62nd birthday and I'll have been a nurse for quite some time and me and my wife will have invested and worked enough to be able to retire comfortably.
  • Wrapping up bucketlist

By 2050 I believe many of my goals and aspirations will have been completed. I still believe there will be a lot of little things that I will want to do and 2050 would be an interesting year to really strive for that completion.
  • Death & Dying

I plan to be a centenarian. Me and my fiance are extremely healthy and plan on living a long life together. I expect to make it to 101 years old. My fiance's birthday is 1 year and 2 days apart so for both of us to live to 100 I'd have to make it an extra year.
