In his early years, Henry was not supposed to become the king. His brother, Arthur, was the eldest son, and was planned to be the successor to the throne. However, Arthur died at the age of 15, making Henry the heir at 10 years old. Because of this, not much is known about his early childhood, However, it is known that in his youth, he was strong, athletic, and handsome. -

Act of Supremacy of 1559
The original act was repealed by Mary when she was the ruler, but was reinstated by Elizabeth during her rule. This accomplished the same thing as the first act, with the addition of the Oath of Supremacy, which requires people in public and church offices to swear loyalty to the king/queen. -
