Irish Rebellion
The Irish rebelling was a main factor in the start of the English civil war. The Irish Catholics rose up and started protesting. King Charles had to send the army to Ireland to stop the rebellion and this led to whether the king or parliament should control the army. -
The war starts
The English civil war started on August 22nd, 1642. The war lasted for almost 10 years. The war was mainly about how England's governance and issues of religious freedom. -

The battle of edge hill only lasted for about 3 hours but was very deadly and killed 1000 people and injured more that 2000. -
Battle of Naseby
The battle of naseby was on June 14th, 1645. The battle was one of the longest battles because it was 3 years long. About 1000 people died, 400 were injured and there was 4500 people who were captured. -
Replacement of English Monarchy
Once Charles 1 was exuded and Charles the ll was exiled the monarchy had to rebuild. Oliver Cromwell overthrew the monarchy, so then Cromwell had to start over and tried to remove the monarchy. -
The execution of Charles l
Charles the l wast exuded on January 30th, 1649 outside the Banqueting in Whitehall. -
Battle of Dunbar
The battle of Dundar lasted for one day on September 3rd 1650. We don't know the true amount of people that died but between 300-500 people died. Also about 1000 people were injured. Many people were captured and that was it up to 6000 from a 12,500 army. -
The exile of Charles ll
Charles ll was exiled in 1651 and wasn't allowed back into the country until after the war ended in 1660. Charles ll was exiled for 9 years. -
War ends
The English civil war ended on September 3rd, 1651. Parliamentarians won the war which meant that the monarchy was ended and kings and queens didn't rule England anymore.
