EGEDIG Pathway to Future

    Ivy Tech (General Studies Associates)

During my time here I plan to take classes during the fall, spring, and summer semesters to complete my general studies. I also am using this time to branch out and not let my ADHD & OCPD get in the way of my learning as it has in the past. This is also a time when I am able to organize and get a routine down which is something I've always struggled with.
  • Fall Semester

    Fall Semester
During the fall semester I have been and still plan to make organization, routine, and being an active student my number one goal to work towards to help set me up for my future in the classroom and outside of it.
  • Spring semester

    Spring semester
During the spring semester, I plan to keep my previous goals but shift gears and start to look into some elective classes to branch out and see what my interests are. As of right now and what I've been thinking about for a while is trying to have a career where I am able to be by water! I love lifeguarding but, I don't want that to be my career. I know that I do enjoy learning lifesaving skills so I hope to take a first aid elective.
  • Summer Semester

    Summer Semester
During this time I will be back in Indianapolis for the summer. I plan to apply as the pool manage for the pool company I have been working at for the past 5 years. I feel as if this is a perfect opportunity to add to my resume and shows my leadership skills. I also plan to really use this time to perfect my time management skills and balance different areas in my life. And I plan to get my general studies associate during this time.

    Gap Year

After getting my general studies associate from Ivy Tech, I plan to take a gap year to save up money for the next steps in my academic career. I will continue to work at Indy Island as a lifeguard or a supervisor. This will look good on my resume especially if I decide to do something with water or in the medical field. I also hope to find another job or even an internship to add to my resume to show my leadership skills to future employers.
  • IUPUI

    IUPUI
After taking a year off, I want to apply to IUPUI and continue my academic journey. I'm not sure what I want to study while there but, I know it will include helping people. I can't see myself in a profession that doesn't help people. Some majors I've thought about are art therapy, er/general nurse, or staying around water somehow. No matter what I study I hope to take everything I learned while at Ivy Tech and during my Gap year and apply it to my time at IUPUI.
  • IUPUI Clubs and Activities

    IUPUI Clubs and Activities
While at IUPUI I want to be an active student on campus and join some clubs and activities. I hope to meet some new friends, find people in my similar major, and learn more about myself. And of course have fun! :)
