This happened in retaliation for the Pequot killing 2 Englishmen and they retaliated by burning down a Pequot fort. This is significant because this formed the Colonial/American Indian Policy. -

The scalp act was the act that made it to where the Pennsylvania government would pay for the scalps of Indians and they used this as a means to get rid of the Delaware. This was important because it showed the true extent that the government would to get rid of the indians. -

The three fifths compromise was used for representation and taxation and placed a made 5 african americans worth 3 when it comes to population. -
Slave Trade Ends in the United States
This was important because it was a slow movement towards ending slavery. -
Battle of Tippecanoe
A battle of British forces and indian troops against American troops. -
The Missouri Compromise
This was passed to keep balance between slave and free states. This made Missouri a slave state and Maine a free state. -
Trail of Tears
The trail of tears was a trail used by native americans to relocate. This was important because this allowed Americans to then occupy where their lands were. -
Indian Removal Act
The Indian Removal act was put in place by Andrew Jackson for the removal of Indians west of the mississippi. This was important because this set the beginning steps of the colonization of the West. -
Nat Turner Rebellion
This was a rebellion of black slaves they killed around at least 51 people. This is important because this shows the struggles of slaves fighting for freedom because that is one of the best rights that people deserve and would fight for. -
The Fugitive Slave Act
This act allowed runaway slave that ran into slave-free states to be returned to their owners in the south. -
Dred Scott Decision
The dred Scott decision was a court case where there was a free African - American that was trying to sue and the court overruled it because although he was free from slavery, does not give him rights and because of that he could not sue someone. -
Emancipation Proclamation
This declared that all people that were slaves within the rebellious states were now free. -
13th Amendment
This amendment abolished slavery which was a giant step revolution towards the America that we know today which everyone is free. -
14th Amendment
This amendment allowed people born in the United States to become automatically natural born citizens. -
15th Admendment
This made it to where the government cannot nt resist someone's right to vote because of their race, religion, or previous condition of servitude. -
Battle of Little Bighorn
This was the most decisive victory for the native americans. This was important because this proved that the native americans were capable of fighting for their beliefs and they were capable of succeeding. -
Battle of Wounded Knee
The domestic massacre of over 300 Lakota people. This was the end of Indian resistance of American. -
Plessy vs. Ferguson
This case brought up the doctrine of, “separate but equal” This was in my opinion totally contradictory to the words “equal”. Also this is where you see most of your separated water fountains, schools, as well as bathrooms because race. This was important in some way because it still gets closer to the end goal of overall equality.
