For the back cover we decided to have the song titles of the whole album listed in a font that matched the overall appearance. We used a navy blue background and then added black paint to which we layered with white to create the outlines of grass and trees bordering the song titles.

We used the paintbrush tool with black paint for the sky and white for the outline and stars – 100% opacity for the sky and 50% opacity for the stars. This then created the overall effect of a night time woodland scene with the songs in the middle.

We added in some official text referencing the band's name, the record label and the cover artist name along with the 'Rise Records' and 'Epitaph' logos. Finally, using the paintbrush tool, we added an orange tinge to some of the 'stars'.

For these inside pages, we started off with an image of the actual band and traced around it using the paintbrush tool with an off white colour, again the background was the midnight blue.

This image shows that the image of the artists being used as one of the layers, and our tracing was drawn on the background. This made it possible for us to draw around the facial features more specifically.

After the editing had been completed, we hid the layer containing the real artists' image. This left us with the image that had been traced. We thought it would look better to do this as it is different to a simple image and gave us the chance to be creative. This will be used as the inside page.

We wanted to keep this section quite simple, and sticking with our theme so we simply kept the navy blue background, added a section for the CD placement and overlapped this with the stars.

To create this font we used the website 1001Fonts.com. To achieve this colour we used the colour dodge effect which then looked like a transparent blue when overlapped on the background image.

We started off with a picture we took from our photo shoot. We decided to use this picture because of the link with one of the scenes in the video. We enhanced the brightness of the sparkler to make it stand out more on top of the darker background. Then, we added the title of the album 'Madness' and did this by duplicating the font that we chose. The colours were then coordinated, leaving the band name, album title and the background the same. We kept the song title 'Gold' in the background to

We then went onto adding extra effects to the overall look of the CD cover. To do this we used the clone tool on Photoshop in order to duplicate some of the sparks falling off the sparkler. We think that by doing this there is more space taken up on the cover keeping the overall look simple yet effective.

We added a filter onto the original image to create a gold tinge. We selected this image with the sparklers because it fitted in the theme we wanted. With the sparklers it also showed the gold theme that we had throughout the music video.

The next thing we did was add text to overlap the background image. Here we also added the band logo along with the logos of the record label to add authenticity and validity.

We added the repeated abbreviation of the band name along with a brief description of the song and record below. We are really pleased with the overall look of the poster as we think in incorporates aspects of the video and its narrative well.
