Differentiated Instruction Technology Project

  • SESSION 1 - TIMETOAST

    SESSION 1 - TIMETOAST
    TIMETOAST
Timetoast could be incorporated into a mathematics curriculum by using to demonstrate topics that are order specific such as order of operations and solving algebraic equations.
Additionally, this could be utilized for curriculum mapping and planning purposes.
  • SESSION 2 - NANOOGO

    NANOOGO - NO LONGER AVAILABLE
Nanoogo would best be incorporated into my curriculum as a way to present materials on posters. Reference pages or "cheat sheets" for tests could be designed on Nanoogo.
  • SESSION 3 - ANIMOTO

    ANIMOTO
Animoto could best be incorporated into my mathematics curriculum with subjects that are explained by using video slideshows. These subjects may have a detailed list of instructions that need to be broken down and completed step by step. Examples may include operations with integers, finding surface area, and as an introduction to a topic such as the Pythagorean theorem by giving a brief biography about Pythagoras.
  • SESSION 4 - BLENDSPACE/WORDLE

    BLENDSPACE
Blendspace is like a online filing cabinet. It is useful for students who are absent to view their work outside of school. Additionall it is useful as a paperless filing cabinet where worksheets, notes, videos, and webpages can easily be stored for later reference.
Wordle is a tool used to place vocabulary words into a shape. It would be useful for introducing the vocabulary for a new chapter.
  • SESSION 5 - THINGLINK/QUIZLET

    THINGLINK
Thinglink is useful for organizing pictures. It reminds me somewhat of pinterest for educators.
Quizlet is simply what it sounds like, a place for online quizzes. Vocabulary is particularly easy to study using quizlet. After the teacher or student enters the vocabulary words and definitions into Quizlet, online quizzes and flash cards can be generated.
  • PIKTOCHART

    PIKTOCHART
Piktochart could be used to make posters pertaining to "big ideas" in mathematics. Some of the big ideas that could be used are solving inequalities with absolute values and union/intersections of sets.
  • SESSION 7 - BIG HUGE LABS

    BIG HUGE LABS
Big Huge Labs can be used to create calendars. This would be helpful when preparing students for what upcoming assignments are. Also this is useful for making posters and organizing portfolios of student work.
  • SESSION 8 - PREZI

    PREZI
Prezi can be used anywhere you would ideally use a powerpoint. The difference is that Prezi stores the file online. Powerpoints can be converted to Prezi's with minimal changes and editing.
  • SESSION 9 - STORYBIRD

    STORYBIRD
Storybird would be useful for students to write word problems. Also Storybird could integrate and incorporate the Collin's writing strategy into the mathematics curriculum. Students can create word problems from a mathematical picture such as pi, volume, or surface area.
  • SESSION 10 - VOKI

    VOKI
A voki can be used to vary instruction by having an avatar discuss the steps in solving a mathematical problem. This website would be helpful with reading word problems to students for assignments, tests, or quizzes. Also this website could be used to review concepts.
