    In this ruling, children were to be tested in their own culture testing in addiction to English, Representatives from the school board had to create a document that would allow these children to not only stay in this self-contained class, but to allow them the opportunity to be mainstreamed

    With this , it allows students the opportunity not to be confined in a self-contained classroom. Students with disabilities have the opportunity to get a normal education with pears that are typically developing as well.

    EMR- Educably Mentally Retarded . A term used by school districts to assign students with IQ scores in the borderland mild range to special classes. Not a federal category. Diana was assessed by a school psychologist using the Stanford Binet Intelligence Test and was placed in an EMR class.
