The Tragic Loss of Martin Luther King Jr.
One of the most well known champions of civil rights, raising issues such as inequality in our society and poverty, Martin Luther King Jr. was sadly assassinated by white supremacist James Earl Ray on April 4, 1968, at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. The Civil Rights Act of 1968
This act was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson. It essentially eliminated many prejudices of race, religion, or natural origin by making it a federal crime to injure or hurt anybody because of those reasons. -

Richard Nixon is elected the 37th President of the United States. He is famous for resigning during his second term because of the Water Gate scandal that was surrounding him. He is also well known for being the one who pulled the American troops out of Vietnam. -
