    The First Vatican Council 186-1870

    The First Vatican Council main contribution towards the church was the enunciation of the doctrine of Papal infallibility. The council was convened by Pope Pius IX and was attended by 600 higher clergy such as archbishops, patriarchs, abbots, bishops, generals of orders, and theologians, from around the globe. However at the time there was much haste and debate towards the doctrine of Papal enunciation which caused controversy to arise in attempting this.

    The Council of Chalcedon was held from October 8 to November 1st, 451 AD and is considered to have been the fourth ecumenical council by the church.

    The Black Death was a horrible Plague that arrived in Europe by sea in October 1937 when 12 Genoese trading ships docked at the Sicilian Port of Messina after a lengthy journey through the Black Sea. It is considered to be the most severe pandemic in human history as it spread through Europe rapidly till 1351, killing over 20 million people which at the time was a third of the European population. This led to the the abuse of selling indulgences and corruption within the church.

    Martin Luther was born 10 November 1483 and died18 February 1546. he was a German professor and Priest who proclaimed and disputed against the use of idulgences and the claim that "freedom from God's punishment for sin could be purchased with money", through his publication of Theses in 1517 which led to hime being excommunicated by Pope Leo X in 1521 and condemnation as an outlaw of the Roman Empire

    1555 Peace of Ausburg
    The 1555 Peace of Ausburg was a reformation where peace was wanted between Catholcism and Lutheranism due to Martin Luther campaign against the use of money to be free from God's punishment under the use of indulgences. The Peace of Ausburg effectively laid the groundwork for the two co-existing religions to be in Peace and ended the haste between the two which was accepted by the Holy Roman Empire and created the Latin phrase "Cuius regio, eius regio" which means " Who's realm, His religion".

    The Second Vatican Council is a significant event in the Church’s timeline as it introduced new prayers and songs, changed mass from being read in Latin to any language and allowed the priests to face the people when proclaiming mass. It is considered to be one of the most influential an signifcant events to have ever occured within the church's history. The people involved with the Second Vatican Council were Pope John XXII, Pope Paul VI, 2600 bishops, 63 observants and 52 Lay Men and Women.
