Formation of Team
A team of stakeholders to act as an advisory committee will be established. Ideally, the team will be comprised of 2 or 3 sworn police officers, the executive director of the domestic violence services agency, the current public education specialist, and at least one client who has been a victim of abuse. -
Needs Assessment
The following questions will be answered by Feb 25, 2013: • How feasible and realistic are the objectives considering the audience?
• What goals and expectations do students (law enforcement officers) have?
• How do the competencies relate to the domestic violence agency’s vision of learning? -
Instructional Design
The course content and instructional design mechansims will be completed by Apr 25, 2013. Specific questions that will be answered include the following: • How does the content relate to the objectives?
• Which objectives receive the most emphasis?
• What activities are audience members expected to engage in during the session?
• How and for what purpose are the materials used?
• How accurate are the materials?
• How will the instruction be delivered (lecture, group discussion, role play, etc. -
Approval of Curricula
Final approval and a pilolt test will be completed by Apr 15, 2013 -
Revisions
Revisions will be made in accordance with feedback dervived from the pilot study. The final curriclua will then be implemented into future public education programs.
