This was when the first code was used by Julius Caesar to comunicate messages to his generals. This was done by moving the letter 3 spaces forwands. (A=D, B=E, W=Z, X=A, Z=C, ect.) -

Morse code uses a series of dots and dashes to represent a coded message. This is one of the most famous codes. -
Enigma machine invented
The enigma machine was a machine that varying electrical curcuits to operate. It was used often in World War 2. This was the start of modern codes. -
Public key
This was invented by Whitfield Diffie and Martin Hellman. It was based often on number theory. -
The Future
In the future there will be codes that constantly change so an old code will be useless even a second later. -
