    Setting the Stage

    To begin the students are introduced to a problem or task. The task is well-defined so that the students have a concrete understanding. As well the teacher provides the students are provided with tools and resources.

    Core Learning Activities

    The teacher provides more details about the task and helps students to brainstorm an action plan to solve the task. During this stage the students begin to collaborate with peers to problem solve. Following their research, the students then share their findings and conclusions.

    Consolidation/ Closure Activities

    To conclude the task, the teacher provides an opportunity for the students to reflect on their problem-solving experience, the process they used and their engagement/participation throughout.
