Nobles rebelled against King John who was a harsh ruler. They Forced him to sign an agreement. it granted equal treatment under the law. It Limited the power of the monarch by guaranteeing that no one would be above the laws. -
Mayflower Compact
A group of colonist from england known as pilgrams wrote a written plan for government. they relized if they were to survive on a new land they would need new laws. -
Fundamental Orders of Connecticut
