May 15, 1948

All surrounding states attacked Israel, in rejection of Israel's Independence the day before.This war formed the second part to the 1948-1949 War.

6 Days War

Jun 5, 1967

Egypt attacked Israel again but failed and Israel gained West Bank, Jerusalem, Golan Heights, Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip. This victory caused problems for Israel because they captured place of strategic value and places where Arabs were living causing some 600,000 Arabs to join the PLO.

Yom Kippur War

Oct 6, 1973

Arab nations planned an invasion and were successful in catching Israel off guard and was winning for a short while. Nixon Gave Israel military relief to help out with the fight and Israel began to push back the Arabs and won the war.

Camp David Accords

Sep 17, 1978

President Anwar Sadat and President Carter and the prime minister of Israel signed a treaty that could have been a frame work for peace in the Middle East. The Camp David Accords let Egypt Formally recognize Israel's Exsistence.

the Suez Crisis

Dec 24, 1978

The Suez Crisis was an invasion of Egypt towards the Suez Canal by Israel in 1956. President Gamal Abdel Nasser Nationalized the Canal earlier that year and this caused the Suez Crisis.
