    The first computational device developed was the atanasoff berry computer, nicknamed ABC. Developed circa 1942
  • The Mark 1 is Developed

    The Mark 1 is Developed
    The next big jump in computational technology came with the development of the Harvard mark 1 on march 29 1944.
  • \: Eniac

    \: Eniac
    ENIAC, completed in 1945, is touted as the first programmable general purpose computer, which was developed University of Pennsylvania.
  • The Johnniac computer

    The Johnniac computer
    The Johnniac computer was named after the creator John Von Neumann, a world famous mathematician. The computer saw extensive use, and improvements over it's lifespan before being shut down in 1966.
  • DEC PDP-1 is developed.

    DEC PDP-1 is developed.
    This new computer engine required no cooling unlike prior computational. It also featured the first instance of a computational video game, SpaceWar! More than 50 were sold during its time.
  • IBM 7030 is completed.

    IBM 7030 is completed.
    The IBMM is developed, and is credited for being the first to use transistors. It is credited with many innovations, and saw great use with scientists, and the NSA.
  • Breakthrough in Language: ASCII

    Breakthrough in Language: ASCII
    ASCII - standing for American Standard Code for Information Exchange - stood as a breakthrough in virtual language. With the use of ones, and zeros, there were 128 codes in the ASCII system with each string representing an American letter. This program set the basis for many future character encoding programs.
  • Xerox PARC Alto Breaks Through

    Xerox PARC Alto Breaks Through
    The newly released Alto set the standard for the computers of the day, and age. The Alto would inspire many of the desktops that would be invented, with innovating apps such as Bravo - a paint program -, and the ability to share, and print documents.
  • Apple introduces the Macintosh Portable.

    Apple introduces the Macintosh Portable.
    The Macintosh portable took the already innovative macintosh, and allows users to take it on the go. This computer, made by apple, saw limited sales due to a very expensive price, but was nonetheless praised for its innovations in the market. These included high performance, and an active matrix panel.
  • The IMac, Apples Saving Grace

    The IMac, Apples Saving Grace
    The iMac is noted as being the saving grace of a nearly bankrupt Apple. The computer featured a 4GB hard drive, and a 32MB RAM. The computer is touted, for it's ease of use, and it's great manual.
