The term "bug" introduced
Grace Hopper is the first to use the the term "bug". A widely used word in the computer world, particuraly programs. We need to identify bugs to improve software of all sorts. -
Transistor
WIlliam Shockely invented the transistor at Bell labs. Probably the most important technology of all electronics. Without them, many things just wouldn't work! -
Intergrated Circut
In 1959 Texas Instruments and FSC applied for patents, intergrated circuts and silicone based intergrated circuts. They are a reason for having things small and organized circut wise in computers. -
First Real Computer Game: Spacewar
There were two other games, tennis for two and OXO before Spacewar. This was the first game that was interactive. Important because most computers have games including, Angry Birds, Call Of Duty, and Halo. -
First CAD program developed
CAD (computer aided design) was made by General Motors (yes, the car company). Essential for design, architecture, 3D models, and more. It's important for great design (iphone, macboook, and engine motor shapes). -
First DRAM
Intel made the first DRAM. It only had 1K bit, but it was a really important invention for the future of computers. Without it, computers would still be big (due to many transistors) and slow. -
Solid State Drives sold to public by Dataram
Solid State Drives were first called "magnetic cores" but were improved and now are SSD's. It's important becasue it's the fastest secondary-memory available. -
Computer Generated Graphics first used in a movie, TRON
The first great example of work from the aftermath of decades of computer technology, TRON. It's important to me because of how awesome the theme of a computer world's graphics are inside. Really amazing! -
Linux developed
Linus Torvalds created Linux, the hackers/developers operating system. The most popluar open-source OS. There are many popular kernals of linux. Those including Android, Ubuntu, and Linux Mint. Whic are all really important for developing software of all sorts for free. -
HTML (2.0)
The first version of HTML available for public use. It is really important for the internet. Without it web pages would simply not be worth looking at. Hyperlinks, graphics, and universal use are what make HTM far superior.
