Containment was where the US wanted to contain communism to the fewest countries as possible. It was a response to Soviet Russia trying to make all of its surrounding countries communist. -

Was the United States giving aid to western Europe so that they can repair all of the damages done during World War II. US gave around 13 billion dollars to western europe. -
