    Jackie Robinson was the first African American in the MLB. He was born in Georgia and later moved to California. He is a pro baseball player for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played his first game on April 15, 1947. He impacted history by stopping segregation in baseball. Jackie Robinson impacted society because he changed the way people look at each other. Instead of judging people by their skin color he made people think about their personality and how everyone can get along.

    The TV was first debuted in the late 1940's. The TV used to be called the "idiot box" or "boob tube". It was created for entertainment purposes. Many people were worried about the TV distracting kids from school and other bad things. It was important because it changed the way people used entertainment at the time.Plus advertisements went up and more money was made off of it. TV Age impacted society because people had a new way to watch shows or be entertained without leaving their home

    The Korean war was the US and South Korea vs North Korea and later China. It was the US and SK vs NK and China to abolish communism. The war took place in Korea. This event was important because it impacted the way people live. Instead of everyone having a right like democracy. People now deal with communism under a dictator. The Korean war impacted American politics because, now the gov't and congress are trying to get rid of any communists that could interrupt the American democracy.

    John F Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. On November 22, 1963 JFK was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald. He was killed a car in Dallas, Texas. This event was important to history because it showed how what you say can impact your life. Oswald didn't like JFK, so the only way in his opinion to figure out his problem was to assassinate him. JFK assassination impacted society because politics because the government and the whole US just lost its president. Everyone was depressed.

    Medicare was started by Lyndon Johnson in 1966. The government helped pay hospital bills for citizens over the age of 65. Medicaid was set up by Social Security Administration in 1965. It gave state governments money to help low income people of all ages with medical bills. It was important because it lower medical bills. Medicare/Medicaid was impacted society because it dropped the prices of medical bills, and helped people save money for other important needs.

    On May 4, 1970 students and professors at Kent State were protesting on campus about troops being sent to Cambodia.In this event students protested and police and National Guard were called.Later the guards shot people.This event was important to history because it was an act of non violent protesting and people were killed because of it. Kent State Massacre impacted society because people were killed over non violent protesting and nothing was done to the National Guards who killed students.

    Jimmy Carter was the 41st president of the United States.He was a democrat and ran from 1976 to 1980. Before he was president he was the governor of Georgia. He also passed the Helsinki agreement. He mainly helped solve problems with countries that hated us and our military. Jimmy was important because he helped make some of he feud between countries go away. Jimmy Carter impacted politics because he helped solve problems with other countries toward the US and helped our military out a lot.

    On September 11, 2001 Al Quida attacked three parts of the US.The twin towers were destroyed in NY city, pentagon breached, and passengers brought down a plane that was supposedly going towards the White House.All the attacks were by plane. This attack has been planned for years. It was important because many people died and this was the second time we've been attacked on purpose. 9/11 impacted politics because we soon went to war with Iraq and Afghanistan.

    The Financial Crisis of 2008 was one of the worst economy crisis's since the Great Depression. It began with mortgage dealers who issued mortgages with borrowers couldn't pay so they went into foreclosure. Banks stopped making loans. Companies suffered heavily because of relying on credit. It was important because recession had taken over most of the world. The financial crisis of 2008 impacted economy because 2 million jobs and the unemployment rate went to 7.2 %, and lots of money was lost.

    NATO is a treaty organization that members agree to help each other if they are attacked. Warsaw Pact is the soviet union's military alliance set up to go against NATO.NATO is founded by allies in WWII(April 1949). Warsaw was founded by Soviet and satellite countries(May 1955).Headquarters of NATO in Brussels, Belgium. It was important because it helped stop and end the Cold War. NATO and Warsaw Pact impacted politics because people became allies within sharing government styles and helping out.

Before he was president he was Reagan's vice president. He was important because he was our president and helped us get past many of our problems in the US. George W Bush impacted society because he had our trust and making the United States a better place.
