    This event is about all the babies that were born after Great Depression. The baby boom was when the birthrate increased majorly. This event happened during the 1940s-1950s after the Great Depression and WWII and it took placed in the U.S. This event was important to people because the population of the U.S. increased. The impact of this event was that the number of children born went from 9 million in 1930 to 23 million in the 1940s - 1950s.
  • Korean War

    Korean War
    The Korean War involved North Korea who was Communist & supported by the USSR and South Korea with were Democratic & supported by the U.S. After WWII Korea was divided at the 38th parallel. NK ends up invading SK in June 1950. The importance is that the UN sent forces in under command of Douglas MacArthur and they were outnumbered and poorly supplied. The impact was that in 1953 when a cease-fire was signed the U.S. showed they would go to war to stop communism and 54,000 Americans died.
  • Brown vs. Board of Education

    Brown vs. Board of Education
    The Brown vs. Board of Education event happened in Topeka, Kansas and involved Oliver Brown, 13 other people, and the court. During this event, Oliver Brown along with 13 others asked the local school board to let their kids attend an all-white school. The school was closer to their home, also the NAACP helped them file a lawsuit lawyer. This event is important because it overturned the Plessy vs. Ferguson case. The impact of this event was that Brown won and all school were not segregated.

    The event was about East Berlin and West Berlin. During this event three million East Berliners went to West Berlin. The event took place in August 1961 at Berlin, Germany. This event is important because East Berlin was Communist and West Berlin was free. The East German soldiers began building a wall of concrete and barbed wire, so that the people in East Berlin could not go to West Berlin. This impacted Americans because it was a symbol of the Cold War.
  • Robert F. Kennedy Assassination

    Robert F. Kennedy Assassination
    On June 4, 1968, in Los Angeles, CA, at the Ambassador Hotel Robert F. Kennedy, John F. Kennedy brother, was assassinated. During this event, RFK was shot 1 in the head and 2 times in the chest by Sirhan Sirhan. Robert F. Kennedy died on June 6 at the age of 42. This event in import because Sirhan Sirhan was angry at Robert F. Kennedy's support for Israel's military policies. The impact of this event is that the Secret Service protection for all future major presidential candidates.

    Man Lands on the Moon
    On July 20, 1969, the U.S. sent astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins to the moon on Apollo 11. The event had over 600 million television viewers. When they landed on the moon Neil was the first one to walk out. The total time that was spent on the moon was 21 hours and the ground was like powdered charcoal. The importance was that American planted a flag and gathered moon samples to study. The impacted was the US was the first to make on the moon.

    Kent State Massacre
    The Kent State Massacre involved 21,000 students that went to the Ohio school. On May 4, 1970 the students of the Ohio school started a protested after Nixon's pledge to send troops to Cambodia. The police came and started bayoneting and clubbing the students at the peaceful protest. The importance of this event is that National Guard was not blamed for the massacre.The impacted was that 4 students were killed and 9 were wounded.

    Gerald Ford
    Gerald Ford was president from 1974 to 1964. Gerald Ford in a Republican that was president for two years in the U.S. He was only president for two years because once Richard Nixon resigned for became president. The importance of him is that he started trade with the Soviet Union and he was part of the Warren Commission investigating John F. Kennedy's assassination. The impact that he made is that he pardoning Richard Nixon meaning that he did not have to have a punishment for the scandal.

    From 1980 to 1988 Ronald Reagan was President of the United States. Ronald Reagan is a Republican that was president for two terms. His previous politics experieicnes are he was the Governor of California and he was a movie star from 1937 to 1964. The importance of when he was president is that helped reduce nuclear weapons, put the first women justice on Supreme Court and nominated five justices, and more. His impact is that Star Wars spent $100 billion on defense and he cut taxes.

    In August 1990, Saddam Hussein sent 100,000 troops into Kuwait. When Saddam Hussein sent the troops into Kuwait, who is a rich oil producer. American then sent forces to Saudi Arabia, then The UN launched an air attack on January 16, 1991. The war lasted from 1990 to 1991 in Iraq. The importance of this event is that the U.S. prevent Iraq from spreading its influences in the Middle East. The impact of this event is that it cost billions of dollars to rebuild and clean up the oil spills.

    Social Network Revolution
    In 1994 the social network revolution started around the world. After Geocities was created more social networks started being created. From 1997-2012 Aol, LinkedIn, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Snapchat were made. The importance of the event is that it was an easy way to connect with friends and family, easy way to get to know people, and you could search for jobs. The impact is that the social network is becoming very mobile and it is changing the way people interact.
  • Financial Crisis

    The financial crisis in 2008 involved the U.S. financial sector. The world economy faced the most dangerous crisis since the Great Depression. Companies that relied on credit suffered and banks stopped giving out loans. The importance is that it began with mortgage dealers who issued mortgages to people with couldn't pay. Insurance companies also traded for credit swap which made them trillions. The impact was the world had taken a deep recession and the U.S. unemployment rate dropped to 7.2%.
