    The UN consisted of 5 countries including the US, England, Russia, China, and France. The UN was a peace keeping organization discussed in 1941, and established in 1945. The UN building is located in NYC. This is important because they solve disease and hunger problems. They also improved education and provided vaccines. They impacted politics because the security council stops wars, gets one vote, and makes major decisions of the UN.

    Senator Joeseph McCarthy was involved in this event. In this event, McCarthy accused 57 state department employees of being communists. Many people were fired and others were afraid to defend the accused workers. he could never prove his claim. This event took place here in the good ol' Wisco in 1959. This event was important because McCarthy was eventually censured. Joe McCarhty impacted American Politics because it spread the fear of communism in America, also known as the red scare.

    The US and USSR were involved in the event. What happened was 3 million E. Berliners fled to W. Berlin. The USSR was embarrassed and built a wall of concrete and barbed wire across Berlin, over night. This took place in Berlin in 1961. This event was important because it was in the middle of the Cold War and it symbolizes it. The Berlin Wall impacted US politics because it divided W. Berlin, and E. Berlin. It also was in the middle of tension between US and USSR, but it was down in 1969.

    The US, Cuba, & the USSR were involved in this event. In the Cuban missile crisis, the USSR gave Cuba weapons & built missile bases. An American spy plane took photos of the missile sites in Cuba in 1962. JFK sent warships to stop USSR ships. The ships turned back, & the USSR took the missiles out of Cuba. This is important to because its the closest the world has been to full scale nuclear war. This changed American Society because people were afraid that any second we could have a nuclear war.

    MLK and James Earl Ray were involved in this event. In this event, King stepped out of his room at the Lorraine Motel and was shot by James E Ray in his jaw. King died because the shot severed his spinal chord at 7:05. This event took place on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, TN. This event is important to history because the leader of America's nonviolent civil rights was silenced. MLK's death impacted society because after he was killed, the Civil Rights Movement essentially ended.

    The people involved in Watergate were Nixon, and 5 men. In this event, 5 men broke into the Democratic HQ, but they were cause because the door was left open. Nixon said to the US he wasn't involved , but evidence said he was. This took place on June 17, 1972 in Washington DC. This was important because on July 1974, articles of impeachment were passed (trial). Watergate impacted american politics because Nixon was the first president to ever resign from office.

    Elvis P was involved in this event. Elvis was born Jan. 8 1935 and called the King of Rock & Roll. He became popular because of TV on the Ed Sullivan Show. His death took place in Graceland Memphis, TN in 1977. This event was important to history because he had 94 gold singles, 40 gold albums, and 33 films. Also, the most flowers sold in one say in history was the day after he died. Elvis's death impacted american society because he was one of the biggest influences on pop and rock & roll.

    Oliver Brown, the NAACP, and 13 others were involved in this event. What had happened in this event was Brown wanted his daughter to attend an all-white school because it was closer to their house. The NAACP helped file a lawsuit for violating the 14 Amendment. This took place in 1986 in Topeka, Kansas. Its importance was that it had overturned the Plessy vs. Ferguson case. Also, it supported the integration of schools. Brown vs. Board impacted society because Brown won a unanimous case.

    Ronald Reagan was involved in this event and he was a Republican. What happened in his lifetime was he was the governor of Cali. He was also a movie star before he became a president. This event took place 1980-88. This event was important to history because he helped reduce nuclear weapon and put first woman on supreme court. Ronald Reagan impacted American economy because he Spent $100 Billion on defense, and cut taxes. That is how Reagan impacted American economy.

    Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the UN, and the US were involved in this event. The PGW was when Suddam H. sent 100,000 troops to Kuwait. George H.W. Bush didnt want Iraq to spread its influence on the Middle so he sent troops to Saudi Arabia. This event took place in August 1990 in the Middle East. This event was important because 11mil barrels of oil were spilled into the Gulf. PGW impacted american economy because it cost billions of dollars to rebuild including $700mil to clean up the oil.

    The interwebs and social media networks are involved. The first social network site was Geocities. The first modern social network site is Friendster and gave users music, videos, and photos. This event took place in the mid 90's through today online. This event is important because it gives an easy way to connect with friends and family, share news, find jobs, and meet new people. This has impacted society because it has become mobile now, and it changed how we interact with each other
  • Iraq/Afghanistan Wars

    Iraq/Afghanistan Wars
    US, Iraq, and Afghanistan were involved in this event. In this event, Iraq were accused of having weapons of mass destruction. The US sent troops but there was no evidence of weapons of mass destruction. This event took place in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2003 in response to 9/11. This event was important to history because we wanted to protect oil reserves and make world safe again. These wars impacted society because this led to the capture and death of Hussein and Bin Laden and cost 6,882 lives.
