The effect of this Crisis resulted in the Soviet Union removing their missiles from Cuba, and for both the Soviet Union and United States to realize that they aren't ready for a nuclear war, and they signed a treaty banning aboveground nuclear weapons testing. -
March on Washington
One of the major reasons for the March on Washington was due to violent attacks on Civil Rights demonstrators in Birmingham, Alabama. This march was successful as it pressured John F. Kennedy to initiate a strong federal civil rights bill in Congress. -
