    The Cold War was a war between capitalist countries like the United States, Britain, and France, against communist countries like the Soviet Union and its satellite states. This conflict was about the spread of communism through out the world and the capitalist countries trying to stop it.

    The baby boom was a huge increase in birth rate in the world. This increase had happened after WWII. It most likely happened due to rising economies and better living standards. This made people decide to have children.

    Berlin Blockade/ Berlin Airlift

    Germany was split after Nazis were defeated during WWII. East Germany, was held by the Soviet Union's communist government, had held the whole capital. West Germany was held by the capitalist which were all capitalist. So that is why one half of the capital was capitalist while everyone around them was communist. So the Soviet Union blockaded that half of the city from supplies to reach the city. The capitalists had sent supplies through air, knowing that the Soviets won't shoot it down.

    The Warsaw Pact was a treaty signed in Warsaw, Poland, was founded as a response to NATO in the capitalist countries. Which made all the countries know that they had each others back if someone attacked.

The capitalist side was led by South Vietnam, the U.S., South Korea, and other anti-communist countries. This war went on to see who would get the influence in Vietnam.

    Cuban Missile Crisis

    A confrontation that lasted from October 16-28, 1962 which was a confrontation of the United States and the Soviet Union, about American missile deployment in Italy and Turkey leading to Soviet missile deployment in Cuba. These missiles were taken out of both places by both sides after an agreement by both John F. Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev. This is an example of the US and the Soviets do not want to destroy each other.

    Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is assassinated
    King was a minister and an activist in the Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for advancing in the movement through non-violent acts and protests. On April 4th, 1968, a man by the name of James Earl Ray shot and killed King. Martin Luther King Jr's acts are important because they led to desegregation and for black and white people to finally be somewhat equal.

    Robert F. Kennedy was a senator of New York, and a presidential candidate for the 1968 presidential election. The perpetrator was a Palestinian from Jordan, and disliked people of Israel due to the Six Day War in 1967. Robert F. Kennedy had support for Israel and attempted to send 50 bombers to Israel for the conflict between them to end.

    The Watergate scandal was a break-in by several men into the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate Hotel in Washington D.C.The men who broke in were tied to Nixon's administration which caused many conspiracies about Nixon's involvement. Nixon was later impeached by congress and later resigned due to all of the suspicions around his involvement.

People and parents didn't like this music being played because it makes you want to dance, and they did not want their children to listen to the music because they feared that they would do bad things during the playing of this music.

Why this is all important is because he heightened the debt of the US.

    The tenth Space Shuttle Challenger took off on January 28, 1986 and had blew up 73 seconds into flight which had killed all seven crew members. Five were NASA astronauts while the other two were just specialists.The explosion had happened due to failure in one of the rocket boosters. This is a major setback in the space program for the US.

    The Persian Gulf War was a conflict between America, Iraq, and Kuwait, and others. Iraq had invaded Kuwait over feeling they were stealing oil from Iraq's land. So, America had defended Kuwait, and we drove them out and defeated them in a couple of months, and we left Saddam Hussein in power.

    President Bill Clinton was in office from 1993 to 2001 when George W. Bush then took office. He had oversaw the longest peacetime economic expansion of any president. He also promoted for a lot of middle eastern peace after the Persian Gulf War. President Clinton was then impeached during his 2nd term due to a scandal with Monica Lewinsky.

    The September 11 attacks were all perpetrated by a terrorist group called Al-Qaeda. They were organized to be 4 different plane hijackings, two to the North and South towers of the World Trade Center. Another plane hit The Pentagon in Washington D.C. The last plane was also supposed to go to D.C. but landed in a field in Pennsylvania. These attacks led to many things in the U.S. Some include military missions to find the perpetrators and airplane security.

    Hurricane Katrina lasted from August 23rd, 2005 to August 30th, 2005. The hurricane caused 1,833 deaths and 125 billion dollars in destruction. It was a category 5 hurricane and one of the deadliest in U.S. history. It affected areas from southern Florida to Texas.
