    Ancient Greek Democracy
    The first form of government in which the power and decisions were instigated by the people. A max of 6000 citizens of the city were aloud to attend assembly's that were taken place every month. This was the movement of liberalism in which individuals rights and freedoms were used to care for and govern society.

    Magna Carta

    Magna Carta
    The Magna Carta was the first time in history that a law was used to limits a kings actions to rule a society and govern it with his own resolution. Rule of Law was the practice of liberalism on the 12th century, where individuals were protected by the rules of the law restricting the kings orders to end a individuals life.

    The Renaissance
    The Renaissance was a time period of rebirth and big change in society in ways such as socially, intellectually, politically. A means of status and how high in authority you were, together with how elegant one was mattered around these times. Many of the people believed in "reason over faith" but some norms believed that people should be able to choose they're own rights and believe what they want.

    The Haudenosaunee Confederacy
    The Haudenosaunee Confederacy or the Great Law of Peace was an act in which 6 native individuals that created 6 tribes, instituted and ensured the safety, freedom and rights to govern each citizen.
    It is believed that the Haudenosaunee people influenced liberal thought within the north. They were the first individuals to structure liberal power and spread it among governments for the citizens to participate in the establishment of they're rights and freedoms.

    The reformation was a time when Catholic church grew and was corrupt and gained lots of power around society. Later reformers then left the church to make their own decisions. liberalism took place through each individual around Europe, as they made decisions because society started to focus more on human nature and not towards faith and belief in a higher power.
  • French Revolution

    French Revolution
    The French Revolution was a time period in France where the people overthrew and took complete control of the government and its monarchy. These action were taken due to the abominate felling they had towards the monarchy, and the poor economic policies of King Louis XVI. The Revolution was an attempt to transform a society using liberal principles. The leader of the Revolution believed in the principles of liberalism, but needed the support of the ordinary people to be able to take action.
  • American Revolution

    American Revolution
    American Revolution occurred when British colonist refused to follow the law of great Britain which commenced in great battles leading to colonies gaining independence and freedom but the law which held them down. John Locke had a major influence on the american revolutionaries. Locke's ideas influenced many Americans to seek independence from the British, which established a republican form of government, where governments power was dependent on the citizens and not ruled over a monarchy.

    Industrial Revolution was a time in which the church and higher powers owned everything in society. Liberal acts were still allowed as individuals had the right to vote, own land and to live their own lives. Liberal law were they're way of life as they were given the right to private property, individuals rights and freedoms and self-interest.

    The Enlightenment was an ideological movement in Europe that further enhanced it to be the main source of power and authority. This movement linked back to the past of European culture with social and political values that took place in society. The ideas that The Enlightenment had to offer formed the principles of liberalism practiced everywhere such as individual rights and freedoms, Rule of Law Economic freedom and more.
  • Changes to class system

    Changes to class system
    Through the individuals that influenced their beliefs and values on society, creating revolutions used against the higher authorities. The older system relied on a higher authority to control and guide society like The Monarchy. Later were disassembled in respect for the rights and freedoms of the individuals that they may be able to choose their place in society. This act valued the liberal principles of all individuals rights and freedoms as long as restrictions were not made against them.
