The south had not won a battle for three years.

As more troops arrived, they forces the confederates into a slow, but sure surrender, winning the Union the war. Atleast 700 men died in this battle. Aftere the war, the Confederates returned hime to rebuild, and while they had won, the union did not celebrate, they also returned home and began the reconstruction period.
