  • Election of 1860

    Abraham Elected President. The South did not vote for Abraham so they were upset. And it was significant because he didnt have the same opinion of the south.
  • South Carolina Secedes

    This event was when South decided to Leave the United States. They had different beliefs on slavery than the rest of America. They thought slavery was good and should expand, But the north did not.
  • Attack on Fort Sumter

    This Battle was the start of the Civil War. This Fort was a problem to the South because Abraham Lincoln was sending supplies to it. Therefor starting the Civil War.
  • Battle of Bull Run/Manasses

    The battle of Bull Run marked the very first battle of the Civil War. This battle unfortunately ended in the Confederates Winning.
  • Battle of Antietam

    The battle of Antietam, also known as the bloodiest battle in the country was another one of the early battles. This battle was so bloody not just because of casualties from guns, But also diseases.
  • Battle of FredericksBurg

    The battle of FredericksBurg was a weird point for the Union. The union had gone through 3 Generals in one year. And on top of that, the didnt even win the battle. This battle ruined the Union's moral and left them in sadness. But not for long
  • Emancipation Proclomation

    The Emancipation Proclomation was a paper signed and Written by Abraham lincoln that declared all Slaves free. But as you probably already know, It didnt free every single slave, it only free some.
  • Battle of Vicksburg

    The battle of vicksburg was the last stronghold of the confederates on the missisipie river. So it was a good thing that we won that battle. And because we won, it opened up "Deep South' and allowed us to control it.
  • Battle on GettysBurg

    What was so significant about the batl eon GettsyBurg was that it was the turning point for the Union. It was one of the Wins the Union needed. And it was the last time, the South tried to invade the North
  • 54th Massachusetts Fight at Fort Wagner

    To start off, the 54th Massachusetts was most famous of all Black Regiments. Unfortunetly they lost, but it is still a great thing to know that African Americans finally got the chance to fight in the war.
  • GettysBurg Address

    The GettsyBurg address was a speech said by Abraham Lincoln. And also the most famous speech in all of Americas History. It was to honor the fallen men in the battle of Gettysburg, and that they didnt die in vain.

    The March to sea was the event that started the term "total war". Which was not only war against the enemy, but anything that supports the enemy. Alot of innocent people died because of this..
  • 13th Ammendment

    The 13th Ammendment was just the next step to stopping slavery and Racism. In the grand scheme of things, the 13th ammendment actually helped out a bit for stopping slavery, but of course not everything goes to plan.
  • Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse

    The Surrender at Appomattox Courthous was so significant because it was where the War started and Where the War ended. It literally started in his backyard and ended in his Living room. Alot of people called the south Cowards for surrendering.
