This was a speech that said that all the slave states had to free their slaves. This was important because it lead to abolishing slavery. -
Emancipation Proclamation takes effect
This was an event that sent a message to the government saying that it was an advantage in the war because if slaves from the south were freed the south wouldn't have people to help make the suplies the soldiers needed. This ended slavery for good. -
Battle at Chancellorsville
This event started April 30 and ended on May 6. This was important because it was one of the Confederates biggest victories and the Union was almost double teamed. -

It was a battle with the most casualties in the war. It was important because it was a turning point of the war. Also it ruined the Souths attempt to invade the North and it was where Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address speech. -
The Siege of Vicksburg
This was an event that Grant planned to attack Vicksburg and catch them by surprise and this was important because the Union won and gained control of the Mighty Mississippi. -

This was a speech that explained peoples freedom over the states laws and practices. And it was important because it ended slavery. -

This took place from November 23 to November 25, 1863. This event was a battle that forced Confederates back into Georgia. This was important because the Union gained control of the railroads. -

Grant was made General sometime in March of 1864 and this was important because he had a good plan to imobilize the Union Army. -

Was and event in which the Union shelled the supply lines and civilians. It was important because it was one of most decisive victories in the Civil War. -

This is an event that resulted in the North gaining Atlanta. This is important because the win helps Lincoln bid for reelection. -

This reelection was Lincolns second term in office and this was important because it would give way to a plan for America to grow as a country. -
Sherman begins march to the sea
From November 15 until December 21, 1864. This event was when Sherman lead about 60,000 troops around 285 miles from Atlanta to Savannah, Georgia. This was significant because it was to scare civilians. -
Union moves into Richmond
This event was when the Union takes over Richmond. This is important because it was the confederates capitol and the Union had it under control. -
Robert E. Lee surrenders
This was the event when Robet E. Lee surrenders 28,00 troops to the Union. This was important becasue it officiall ended the Civil War. -
Lincoln Killed
This was the day Lincoln was murdered. This was a very important event because it was the main leader that got killed. But a few days later the Confederates surrendered. -
13th Amendment was passed
This was the amendment of the U.S Constitution that official ended slavery. It was important because it freed all the slaves officially.
